Dr. Nnedi Okorafor is a world-renowned science fiction author and winner of Hugo, Nebula and other awards for her Africanfuturism and Africanjujuism works for children and adults. Her writings include Who Fears Death, developed by HBO as a TV series, and the Binti novella trilogy, among others. A novelist of Nigerian descent, she is known for weaving African culture into tales in what the The New York Times called "stunning." She has written comics for Marvel and is a co-writer of the adaptation of Octavia Butler's Wild Seed with Viola Davis and Kenyan film director Wanuri Kahiu. She holds a Ph.D. in English and has held appointments at the Chicago State University and the University at Buffalo.
Dr. Okorafor's next novel, Ikenga, will be in stores August 2020, and her novel Remote Control, is expected on sale in January 2021.
