We are thrilled to share that UCI will be hosting the fourth annual UCI Esports Conference this October 7-8, 2021. It will be completely virtual for the second year in a row. With the explosion of esports worldwide and on college campuses, UC Irvine is a clear leader as the home of top researchers, our collegiate program, and excellent student clubs. It’s no wonder that UCI is consistently ranked at the top for esports and gaming.

The first of its kind, ESC convenes academic esports researchers and esports professionals in the same space to share empirical findings, best practices, and for the love of the games! The conference will feature two days of research presentations and panels, interactive workshops, a community Discord server, and a collegiate invitational event.

The Call for Proposals is now open through July 31, 2021 for our three conference tracks: Research, Collegiate, and Scholastic (K-12). We invite you all to submit an abstract for peer review or to share this opportunity with colleagues who are interested in these domains. We will send another message in the fall with more information about registering to attend the event.
