Information for Graduate student orientation can be found here: https://www.grad.uci.edu/services/campus-orientation/index.php Event Information: The official opening ceremony of the academic year, New Student Convocation, is held on the Monday of Welcome Week. New Student Convocation is highly recommended for all new undergraduate incoming freshman and transfer students. Second year students are also welcome to attend this year. Our UCI Chancellor, ASUCI President, and UCI Alumni President will share words of wisdom and kick-off the new school year. This year's event will be held OUTDOORS on Crawford Athletic Field. Attendees will enter an open field area where they will be able to spread out on the field, keep safely distanced from others, and find a location for them to watch the event. Students must register to attend via Campus Groups. Attendees must be in compliance with the UC COVID-19 Vaccination Program and masks must be worn during the event regardless of vaccination status. The entrance to the event is at Bren Events Center near Mesa Parking Structure. Attendees will not be able to enter or exit the field through any other route. For those living on campus, RAs will guide you to the event from your housing locations that morning. After Convocation, peer academic advisors will lead groups by school to their Dean's Welcome event. Space is limited.
