Veteran's Awareness Week

November 9 through November 13 is Veteran's Awareness Week. A number of events and ongoing activities will be hosted to raise awareness for our veterans, as well as to thank them for their service.

Operation Gratitude (all week): Write a thank-you notice to send to active duty military veterans. Cards and pens are provided at the Veteran Services Center.

Working Wardrobes Clothing Drive (all week): Bring your new or lightly-used professional clothes to the Veteran Services Center to help Veterans for Interviews.

Annual UCI Flag Ceremony (Nov. 10, 12-1 pm): Join us at the UCI flagpoles for our annual Flagpole Ceremony to honor our veterans. Pastor Frank Orzio, founder of Wounded Warrior Ministries, among others will be present to speak. Light refreshments will follow in the Hillside Lounge until 2pm.

Veteran's Day (Nov. 11)

City of Irvine Veteran's Day Ceremony (Nov. 11, 11am - 12:30pm): The City of Irvine will be having a special ceremony to honor and pay tribute to veterans.

American Children Lost in the Viet Nam War (Nov. 12, 5-6:30pm): Gil Watts, a Viet Nam War veteran will speak about his experience abroad and how he helped Ameriasians through Operation Homecoming. In Emerald Bay DE.
