Planned Chilled Water Shutdown Dec 15-17

Displaying until December 17, 2017

The purpose of this shutdown is to conduct regularly scheduled maintenance of equipment on the high temperature hot water system, chilled water system, and the cogeneration plant. The Central Plant conducted the first partial shutdown of the chilled water system in December 2015 and it was very productive.

This year the chilled water shutdown will occur on December 15, 16, & 17, 2017. We will be shutting down portions of the chilled water system after 5:00p.m. on Friday, December 15, 2017. Normal service will be restored no later than Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 11:00p.m. Shutting down the chilled water system will affect building cooling systems and process cooling systems to buildings that use chilled water provided by the Central Plant.

Buildings affected by the Central Plant CHW Shutdown this December:

Engineering Tower
Engineering Hall
Social Sciences
Social Ecology
Computer Sciences
Main Library
Aldrich Hall
Business units 1 & 2

During the scheduled December shutdowns we generally refrain from shutting down the high temperature hot water system due to the cold temperatures.  The high temp hot water supply for the buildings heating systems will not be affected during this shutdown.

This maintenance will help ensure that we provide reliable service to the campus community.
