On Monday, March 19, 2018, the City of Irvine will begin construction work on University Drive, between MacArthur Blvd. and Campus Drive, to reduce traffic congestion for vehicles, bicyclists, and pedestrians. Once completed in the spring of 2019, this project will widen University Drive with an additional traffic lane in each direction and add better facilities for pedestrian and bicyclists. To provide minimal impact to the campus community, work will take place Monday through Friday, from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., with some additional work occurring from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. During the project, the San Diego Creek Trail will be available for use by bicyclists.

As contractors continue to provide details of the work, including revised schedules, we will provide updates on the Transportation website. For questions about the project, please email City of Irvine's Senior Construction Inspector, Noah Hernandez, at nhernandez@cityofirvine.org. Thank you for your patience as we support the City of Irvine during this construction project.
