This year the UCI Libraries' are amplifying Banned Books Week (September 27 - October 3, 2020) to focus on books written by POC (People of Color) authors. Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read, and spotlighting current and historical attempts to censor books in libraries and schools. During Banned Books Week, visit UCI Libraries' social media accounts to enjoy videos of participants reading selected passages from Banned Books.

Access to books seen on the UCI Libraries' Banned Books Virtual Book Display are available only to UCI affiliates. UCI Alumni and community members are also invited to join. To obtain a copy of the books, check with your local public library or you may purchase copies at your local bookstore.
