UC Irvine provides paid time off to employees, depending on eligibility, for:
- Holidays
- Jury duty, witness duty
- Leave of absence
- Sick leave / bereavement
- Vacation
- Voting - Polling sites are usually open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on election days.
UCI can provide paid time off for voting in local, state, and federal elections. A non-exempt employee shall be granted leave with pay, up to a maximum of two hours, for voting in a statewide primary or general election if the employee does not have time to vote outside of working hours. Any additional time off shall be without pay.
