Supplemental Guidelines to Classification Specifications

Summary: The UC Irvine supplemental guidelines serve to augment the existing systemwide UC classification specifications. They focus on competencies and provide a consistent framework for analysis and planning.

The supplemental guidelines include a classification summary and a matrix:
  • Classification summary
    • is an overall synopsis of a job family and
    • includes competencies and responsibilities

Competencies are basic skill sets required to perform a job.
